What do I need to inform MOM regarding my maid?

As an employer, you need to notify MOM of changes during your maid’s employment, including changes in residential address and her passport details, pregnancy, missing worker, death of a worker or provide a reference for your worker.

1. Change in contact details

You should update your email and mobile number using WP Online.

This will allow you to receive important information about your maid, e.g. renewal notice or six-monthly medical examinations.

2. Change in residential address

You must update your new residential address within 2 weeks of the change.

1)Singapore citizen or PR

If you are a Singapore citizen or PR, you need to update your address at any of these places:

Any neighborhood police post or Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) building.

This new address will automatically be updated as your maid's workplace. You will receive an acknowledgement letter by post within 2 weeks.

2)EP, S Pass, DP or LTVP issued by MOM

If you're holding an EP, S Pass, DP or LTVP issued by MOM, you need to update your residential address using EP Online. You will need a SingPass to log in.

Find out how to update your maid’s personal particulars.

LTVP holders need to get their EP, S Pass holders or sponsoring companies to update on their behalf.

Print the acknowledgement letter and keep it with your pass card.

This new address will automatically be updated as your maid’s workplace. You will receive an acknowledgement letter by post within 2 weeks.

3)LTVP issued by ICA

If your LTVP was issued by ICA, submit your latest documents showing the new address (e.g. bank statement, internet or utilities bill) using iSubmit. Under Request Type, choose option 4.

This new address will automatically be updated as your maid's workplace. You will receive an acknowledgement letter by post within 2 weeks.

3,Change in maid’s personal particulars

You need to inform MOM of changes to your maid's personal particulars, such as passport updates.

You inform MOM through:

WP Online – for updating your maid’s name, date of birth, passport number, passport expiry date and marital status.

Find out how to update your maid's personal particulars.

iSubmit – for all other changes. Attach copies of your letter of request and supporting documents (e.g. passport). Under Request Type, choose option 4.

MOM will inform ICA about the changes to passport details. If your maid wishes to clear immigration using the automated gates at the checkpoints, they can do so after 4 working days from the update.

4,Changes in maid’s salary(Only need to inform MOM when lowering your maid’s salary)

If you are lowering your maid's salary, you must:

Get her written consent.

Inform MOM of her new salary using WP Online.

There is no need to inform MOM if you are raising your maid’s salary.

5,Provide a reference for your maid

You can let MOM know if you wish to be a reference for your maid.

The prospective employer or employment agency can contact you to find out about your maid’s conduct, character, work attitude or performance.

  • Release your contact details to the prospective employer or employment agency if they wish to find out more.

If a prospective employer decides to employ the maid in spite of the feedback, MOM will process the application. They will only ban an FDW from employment if the maid is charged and found guilty of an offence under Singapore law.
